• MLK Day Message — New York

Today, New York pauses to honor Martin Luther King Jr., not by repeating his words, but by reflecting on their weight.

Dr. King spoke in an era when injustice was visible, undeniable, and openly defended. His courage was not rooted in anger, but in moral clarity. He reminded this nation that laws alone do not create justice—people do. And that progress is not measured by what we demand for ourselves, but by what we are willing to protect for one another.

His vision was never about perfection. It was about responsibility. About choosing conscience over convenience. About building a society where dignity is not negotiated, and opportunity is not reserved for the few.

For New York, his message still matters.

We are a state of unmatched diversity, talent, and resilience—yet too often divided by fear, economics, and politics that reward conflict instead of cooperation. Dr. King warned us that division weakens democracy, and that silence in the face of wrong is itself a form of harm.

Honoring him today means recommitting to the hard work:
    • To listen before we label
    • To govern with fairness, not favoritism
    • To measure success by how the most vulnerable are treated, not by who holds power

Dr. King believed that the arc of history bends toward justice—but only if people are willing to bend it.

Today, may New York choose unity over noise, service over slogans, and courage over comfort.

That is how his legacy is honored—not in words borrowed, but in values lived.

    Happy New Year, New York

As the clock turns, we pause—between what was and what can be.
Another year of grit, resilience, and quiet strength. Another year where New Yorkers showed up for each other, even when it wasn’t easy.

Tonight isn’t just about fireworks or countdowns. It’s about renewal. About choosing hope over fear, honesty over noise, and community over division. It’s about remembering that this state has always moved forward because ordinary people refused to give up on one another.

Wherever you are—city lights, small towns, kitchens filled with laughter, or places of reflection—may the new year bring peace to your home, purpose to your days, and momentum to the work ahead.

Here’s to building something BETTR together in 2026.
With courage. With compassion. With each other.

  • Wishing a meaningful Hanukkah to our Jewish neighbors, families, and communities across New York.

Hanukkah is a reminder that light matters — especially in difficult times. It speaks to resilience, faith, perseverance, and the courage to stand firm in who you are, even when it’s not easy.

New York is stronger because of its Jewish communities — your history, your contributions, your values, and your commitment to family and community life are deeply woven into the fabric of this state.

May this season bring light to your homes, peace to your families, and strength to all those facing uncertainty.

    Chag Sameach.

  • An AWS Earthquake Has Given the Internet a Very Bad Day

A major outage at Amazon Web Services (AWS) — one of the internet’s largest cloud providers — disrupted websites, apps, and smart devices worldwide today. The failure reportedly began in the US-EAST-1 region (Northern Virginia) and caused cascading DNS and database errors that took down platforms from finance to gaming.

Experts say the event highlights how fragile the web can be when so much depends on a few cloud giants. Businesses across industries are re-evaluating redundancy, disaster recovery, and cloud diversification strategies to prevent total shutdowns in the future.

  • JSA2026 NYC Mayoral Endorsement: Backing Curtis Sliwa — With Conditions

By Jason S. Arnold, Candidate for Governor of New York (2026)

As a candidate for Governor of New York, I never intended to step into the NYC 2025 mayoral race. But given the direction this race is heading — and what’s truly at stake — I have no choice but to speak now, clearly and decisively.

I’m endorsing Curtis Sliwa for Mayor of New York City. It’s not about party loyalty — it’s about leadership, accountability, and putting the city’s safety and sanity above personal political gain.

Curtis has been a fighter for decades. He understands crime prevention, urban decay, and community rebuilding in a way few others do. He’s not beholden to lobbyists, corporations, or political dynasties. He shows up — in the streets, in the news, and in the neighborhoods that others ignore.

But if Curtis doesn’t win, I need to be honest with you: I’ll take Andrew Cuomo over Zohran Mamdani every time.

Why? Because Zohran Mamdani just recently became a U.S. citizen. I respect immigration. I respect the right to run. But I do not believe someone who only recently earned the rights of citizenship should immediately be given the reins of America’s largest city.

This isn’t anti-immigrant — it’s pro-reality. The Mayor of New York isn’t just a manager. It’s a symbol of American resilience, grit, and continuity. That requires deep roots — not recent paperwork.

    So here’s where I stand:
    Curtis Sliwa is my endorsement.
If he falls short, I’d rather work with Cuomo than see an untested, ideologically extreme newcomer in charge.
Zohran Mamdani may be qualified on paper, but New York City needs more than a résumé — it needs experience, loyalty, and wisdom.

New Yorkers are about to make a decision that impacts the whole country. And as someone who hopes to lead this state starting in 2026, I want you to know where I stand before the general election begins.

    This isn’t about politics.
    It’s about principle.

  • Massive Solar Storm Slams Earth, Disrupts Global Communications

A major solar storm is currently bombarding Earth’s magnetic field, causing:

    Radio blackouts
    Satellite disruption
    GPS interference
    Potential power grid instability

Scientists confirm this is one of the strongest geomagnetic events in decades—triggered by a powerful X-class solar flare and coronal mass ejection (CME) from the sun.

Aviation, marine, and emergency services in multiple regions have already reported temporary communications failures.

The storm is expected to intensify through the weekend.

This isn’t sci-fi. This is space weather hitting Earth in real time—and it’s exposing how fragile our systems really are.

  • Oil Prices See Biggest Monthly Drop Since 2021

Global oil markets just took a major hit—posting their sharpest decline in nearly 3 years—as fears of a recession and a growing trade war rattle investors.

    Demand down
    Trade tensions rising
    Recession whispers getting louder

While cheaper gas may seem like a win for consumers, the bigger picture is dangerous:
    Fragile global supply chains
    U.S. energy independence under threat
New York’s economy exposed to every ripple

This is why JSA2026 pushes for:
