• Solar Power Saves an Arkansas School District — and Raises Teacher Salaries!

The Batesville School District in Arkansas turned a $250,000 deficit into a $1.8 million surplus — all by installing 1,400 solar panels!

    Here’s how they did it:

Energy Costs Slashed: The district cut its $600,000+ annual energy bill dramatically.

Teacher Salaries Boosted: Savings were used to give teachers up to $15,000 raises.

Green Leadership: Batesville is now a model for other school districts nationwide looking to invest in renewable energy and staff.

Instead of cutting programs or laying off workers, Batesville bet on solar—and won. A BETTR way to fix budgets, invest in education, and build a sustainable future!

    Canal Solar Power Project
The Canal Solar Power Project is a solar canal project launched in Gujarat, India, to use the 532 km (331 mi) long network of Narmada canals across the state for setting up solar panels to generate electricity. It was the first ever such project in India. This project has been commissioned by SunEdison India. Inauguration of pilot project Narendra Modi, then Chief Minister of Gujarat, inaugurated a 1 Megawatt (MW) pilot project on 24 April 2012. The project is situated on the Narmada branch canal near Chandrasan village of Kadi taluka in Mehsana district. The pilot project will generate 1 MW of clean energy and also prevent evaporation of 9,000,000 litres (2,000,000 imperial gallons; 2,400,000 US gallons) of water annually from the canal. The project virtually eliminates the requirement to acquire vast tracts of land and limits evaporation of water from the 750 metres (2,460...
