Chapter IX — Of the House with Closed Doors

(The Veil Version — VV)

1. There are houses built with strong walls,
yet weakened by the doors they refuse to open.
2. For many believe strength is found
in keeping only those who agree.
3. Yet a house that welcomes only its own voice
soon mistakes echo for truth.
4. Wisdom is not proven
by the absence of disagreement,
but by the willingness to hear it.
5. The proud gather around certainty,
while the humble continue to seek understanding.
6. No vineyard bears greater fruit
by cutting away every branch that grows differently.
7. For the field is made fruitful
not by one seed alone,
but by many growing beneath the same sun.
8. Those who build walls around every thought
eventually become prisoners of their own making.
9. Yet those who open their gates with discernment
discover strength they did not possess alone.
10. For unity is not sameness,
nor is peace the silence of every opposing voice.
11. A kingdom endures
when its foundation is truth,
its walls are justice,
and its gates are wisdom.
12. So it was written:
the house that fears every unfamiliar voice
shall one day hear only its own—
and in that silence,
it shall wonder where everyone has gone.
